About KAIS
Our Story
In 2009, a contingent of 14 parents from Korat visited Adventist International Mission School
(AIMS) in Muaklek, Saraburi. The purpose of the visit was to examine the school, its mission,
and goals. Subsequent to the visit 4 families enrolled their children in AIMS-Muaklek.
However, the distance from Korat to Muaklek (103 km) prevented other families from enrolling
their children in AIMS Muaklek. Parents from Korat eventually requested the Southeast Asia
Union Mission Board of Directors to open an Adventist International Mission School in Nakhon
Ratchasima (Korat) and the request was approved. The school was established. It was located at
1157 Mitrapap road, Nai Mueang, Mueang Nakhon Ratchasima District, Nakhon Ratchasima.
Sixteen students were enrolled in its first year of operation in a rented used kindergarten school
which was renovated to make the school’s operation possible.
In 2015, AIMS-Korat was transferred and managed by Thailand Adventist Mission (TAM). A
proposal for a building project was sent to Thailand Adventist Mission (TAM), and in May 2016,
TAM was able to purchase a 9-rai piece of property which is about 4 kilometers away from the
rented school, located at 862 Moo 2 Nonmaydang Soi 13, Suranari, Mueang Nakhon Ratchasima
District, Nakhon Ratchasima. The groundbreaking ceremony for the building construction in the
new property was held on November 1, 2018. The school was moved to the new campus after
the dedication ceremony on August 8, 2019.
The school’s international license for Grades 1-3 was in 2009, grades K 1-3 in 2010, grades 4-6
in 2011, grades 7-9 in 2015, and grades 10-12 in 2018. In 2017, the school was accredited by the
Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and awarded Adventist International
Mission School-Korat (AIMS-Korat) a 6-year term of accreditation.
Since celebrating our first graduating class in June 2021, our alumni have proven the power of our educational philosophy. Having earned degrees from top local and international universities, they have built distinguished careers across diverse industries. Just as importantly, our graduates continue to give back, actively participating in school events and inspiring the next generation of learners.
Transition from AIMS Korat to KAIS
After two years of ownership transaction, finally it was completed and the school board had decided to change its name and logo. The new name is Korat Adventist International School (KAIS). It was approved by the OPEC to officially change its name in September 2021.
